A pallid harrier was reported yesterday as being somewhere locally a few days ago, but not sure where, or what appearance. An immature male hen harrier would fit your description though…

Sorry for late posting.  I walked over Blackdown yesterday 24th and saw a Ringtail Harrier which had me thinking. Seemed smaller and lighter in flight than a Hen Harrier.  Only a brief view though and with this weather now probably moved on.
Walked through the woods next to Blackdown and there were lots of Bramblings among Chaffinches.
