For anyone hoping to see and photograph Kingfishers on the perch outside the North Hide, please be aware that the perch was broken off when a Grey Heron landed on it. I’m sure the perch will be replaced in due course.

However other highlights from this morning included:

Bearded reedlings - looked to be eating seeds already
Bittern emerging from the Reeds.
Sparrowhawk, Marsh Harriers x2, Hobby
Little Egrets x5 and very active, One with rather grey wing feathers,
A Single GC Grebe
A couple of Little Grebe
Two Great White Egrets
Two Swifts
Black Headed Gulls taking minnows from the surface.
Reed Warblers and Sedge Warblers
and finally the resident Mr and Mrs Swan with there 3 Cygnets.
