At 19:30 this evening an Osprey flew over Steart Marsh down river towards the Point. This might not sound that exciting but it is the first Osprey I have ever seen at Steart !!  Not only that but it was being persistently mobbed by a group of at least 30 Shelduck that continued to press home their attack even as the Osprey was lost to sight.  I have never seen Shelduck react to a raptor with such vigour and persistence - perhaps it was also the first Osprey they had ever seen.
