Sorry Jeff - didn’t see the “New Arrivals” post but great to hear a Nightingale again on the levels where it used to be quite a common summer visitor back in the 80’s when I started birding down there!

Also had a big flock of 70 odd Cattle Egrets over Tor Hide yesterday afternoon about 17.30!

Possibly the same bird that has moved further west along the hedgerow from near where the black Discovery board-walk Trail loops back to the main track and where it had been reported since at least the 21st April (see postings under New Arrivals).

Male singing intermittently at Shapwick Heath 300 yds from Ashcott Corner car park on south side of path just after track with wooden gate on left.  Now a rare bird on the Levels!!
