From a boat in the Minehead Porlock area yesterday. Swallows - a steady trickle going through all day. A distant group of 5 or 6 small waders, possibly Ringed Plover. The only Tern was a single Sandwich Tern, although the previous day there was reportedly a significant passage of “Comic”, mainly Arctic Terns. There was a lone Little Gull resting on the water near Minehead Harbour at about 1630. All passage birds were East bound “up channel” except for some northbound Swallows and flock of circa 15 Common Scoter flying down Channel at 0830. Also seen were resident Shelduck, Oystercatchers, Peregrines & Ravens at several locations and a Grey Seal at Hurlestone Point.
