The preliminary totals for this years Booming bittern count were quickly released today, after we finished our 2nd. and last (for this year!) early morning census and are as follows
Avalon Marshes Total 42 (Same as march but NE and SWT reserves down 2 each and Ham Wall up 4)
Somerset Total: 47 includes Greylake and West Sedgemoor.

This is slightly down from last year the totals of which were 50 Avalon Marshes and 55 Somerset. Still a fantastic number!
