Correction to my previous post, the Cattle Egrets weren’t where Martin saw them, they were in a field adjacent to, and to the west of the B3151 Blakeway, just north of its junction with Totney Drove.
This afternoon there were 29 Cattle Egrets in the same field as described by Martin. Nothing much on Tadham or Tealham Moors, highlight of an afternoon drive around was a Merlin flying over Farmland adjacent to Vole Road between Mark and Rooksbridge, the first I’ve seen on Allerton Moor for 12 years.
About 35 Cattle Egret were present this morning beside the B3151 where the minor road along the north of Westhay Moor joins the main road. They have been there or in adjacent fields for several days. Hard to believe that they have joined my 12 month club of species seen in every month of 2018.
