As Storm Bronagh swept up the Bristol Channel bringing WNW Gale force winds conditions for sea watching on our North Somerset coastline were ideal

Minehead 7.00-13.00
Black-throated diver a good record for this month
Leach’s Petrel
Sandwich tern 9
Med Gull 2
Auk sp 2
Manx Shearwater 8
Common Scoter 5

Stert Tower Hide 15.15-18.00
Leach’s Petrel 9
Little Tern 3
Arctic Tern 5
Grey Phalarope
Bar-tailed Godwit
Manx Shearwater 13+ unfortunately as with so many of the seabirds in these weather conditions they become exhausted and one was taken by several Black-backed Gulls

A report of a juvenile Sabine’s Gull came from Burnham-on sea side and was later seen from Huntspill seawall area
