Confirmed sighting as a Rose-Ringed Parakeet this morning.
Still in the same area and still very vocal.
Managed to get a very brief glimpse of the bird as it flew directly away from me this morning. From it’s outline, it appears to be a Rose-Ringed Parakeet (although I didn’t catch any coloration).
It’s still hanging around the same Blackbrook School / Master Thatcher area, and can be heard calling very clearly.
Hope to get a decent sighting later this week when I can spend some time down there, but it’s certainly not a Little Owl.
Hi Jamie.
I think your calls are of Juvenile Little Owls and there may be an adult there too. I note they are in an apple tree and as they live by orchards it is more likely to be them than a tawny, whose young would in any case be much older at this time of year.
Could you say where this location is? The SOS is currently conducting a survey on Little Owls and would love to have info on this possible breeding site.
Thanks
Bob Jervis
Can anyone help ID this very unusual call/song from a tree in east Taunton yesterday?

I couldn’t gets eyes on it due to the leaf coverage of the tree it was sitting in (and no bins).
Escapee?
Cheers
