Natural England has put the pump on this morning to lower the water level in what we know as ‘the Scrape’ The water level in the South Drain alongside is currently very high as is the level in the surrounding area of Meare Heath so it doesn’t look like any gravity draining can happen. Unless we get a sudden drought which seems unlikely draining the ‘Scrape’ is going to take some time!
