Noticed a stunning White Winged Gull amongst Herring and Blacked backed gulls on flooded fields looking from the Footbridge over the River Cary beside the Fishery towards Littleton Hill. The River Cary is partly flowing straight into fields here.
Thought it was an Iceland Gull in the field at first but after checking Field Guide at home reckon it was more likely a Ist Winter (faded Spring) Glaucous Gull as it was as large or larger than the Herring Gulls nearby. The undercarriage looked a little greyer than than the rest of the body.
Flew off towards viaduct at 16.30 looking plain white in flight.
A kingfisher also flew over the flooded field.
