Late posting, Short Eared Owl flushed from dead ferns close to Bat’s Castle above Dunster on Sunday morning. It flew up onto the earthworks giving brief clear views before moving off over the ‘castle’ and disappearing from view.

A Short Eared Owl arrived from the east onto Catcott Lows at 1400hrs today. Flew along the north edge of the reserve and landed in the short sedge alongside the water looking very alert! It settled down and was still sitting there when i left around 1515hrs..
