The RSPB have also said that any non-member of the RSPB who goes on one of the guided walks will be eligible to have their car parking charge refunded if they join on the day.

Natural England have since clarified that the parking fee for Shapwick Heath will be £1.50 for the first two hours, then £3.00 for the day. Holders of blue badges will get free parking.

From their relevant website blogs, both RSPB and Natural England have announced a daily car parking fee of £3.00 per vehicle for Ham Wall car park and Ashcott Corner car park (see below).

RSPB - Ham Wall Reserve
We will be introducing Car park charges to the reserve on November 15th.
Tickets are £3 per car for all day. Access to the reserve trails and facilities are included in the cost of your parking ticket. Entrance and parking are FREE to RSPB members.
All the birds, animals and this amazing landscape is here because the RSPB and its partners are giving nature a home in this special place.
The RSPB is a charity and we rely on support from people like you.
If you have any questions email the reserve office .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or phone on 01458 860494.

Natural England - Shapwick Heath NNR Ashcott Corner car park.
As of 14 November 2016 alongside the RSPB at Ham Wall, Natural England will introduce a daily parking fee of £3.00 per vehicle in this car park.  We also propose to introduce an annual pass for the Ashcott Corner car park for regular users.  The annual pass will be £30.00 for a full year.  Visitors to the western end of the reserve will still be able to park for free at the Avalon Marshes Centre.  All money raised will be used directly to help maintain and enhance the visitor facilities on this reserve and contribute to the sustainable long-term management of habitats at Shapwick Heath NNR, including the reedbeds and grassland.
For further details including annual passes please contact: The Senior Reserve Manager on 01458 860120
