Just found a juv Grey Phal at the res, Axbridge end. Please don’t try to approach onto the mud as this flushes everything off, and may result in news becoming more belated!

3 different med gulls today; yesterday’s 1cy, a 2cy by the Cheddar valve tower and an adult along the west back. Also a wheatear along here.  Windsurfers out in force today, seeming disturbing the accumulating wildfowl, unable to relocate the 3 wigeon or party of shoveler.

Quite possibly Neville, though I approached it down to 2 m without issue - likely the first time it’s encountered humans before. In other news, yesterday’s waders departed, but a fine 1cy Med gull was present on the spit at 10:45am.

Juv Black tailed godwit and dunlin present this afternoon, with the Little stint departing overnight. Glad that a few folk managed to catch up with it.

should imagine that it was disturbed by the sailing club meeting in the evening, some sailing closish and off loading in the near vicinity ,couldn’t locate it around 7:00 —  7:30 pm

one heron fishing on the exposed mud flat, approx 80 Canada geese, 2 -  3 white throat where the [calling for last two day] Cettis Warbler is settled, and an aborted air raid from a Sparrowhawk on a sparrow around the same area [07-00 today]

Been a bit quiet of late, but things starting to pick up a bit now, particularly as I’m no longer working 14hr + days! Coot numbers topped 100 this am, and the last week has seen a few teal, Gadwall, pochard, tufted duck and even a Shoveller put in an appearance. Thw gull roost has been a bit quiet, but a LBBG X HG was present last night. A fine dunlin flew through one evening last week, but pride of place for the autumn so far goes to a fine Grey plover that circled the res for 5 mins before dropping down and flying west this am. There’s a small spit forming near to the sailing club, which may tempt the odd wader down early doors.

Yes,Andy. I’ve been keeping on eye on this thread and will close it down if it gets out of hand. Subjects like dog problems should be in ‘General Matters’.

Bristol Water, not Wessex.  This is dangerously close to becoming a discussion and not a series of sightings - which I quite like…
