We have just been informed that one of the birds found dead on 28th February has tested positive for avian flu.

There were two more dead swans on Tealham Moor at the weekend (5th March)

Further information has been forthcoming on the dead bird found at Butleigh Drove on 28th Febuary.
It was Yellow ATU (BTO ring ZY4679) ringed at Hangmans Cot (Dorset) as a cygnet on 06/09/2011. It was caught at Abbotsbury in the 2013 roundup, but not the 2015 one.
The Swan was treated for a leg Abscess at Secret World in Somerset on 14/02/2016 and on recovery was released at Grid Reference ST450350 (near Butleigh Drove).
