Having suffered from 6 short power cuts in Westhay in 3 weeks, I contacted Western Power Distribution today. A manager there told me that the main problem is birds perching on electricity lines in unusual numbers or close to poles in recent weeks. They have found a number of dead birds, mainly Crow family. They would value reports of regular perching points for groups of large birds on electricity cables.  If you see any dead birds below a line or a group of birds perched on one, please ring 0800 096 3080.
