Out of county but I decided to pay an early morning visit to Martin Down near Salisbury and was rewarded with 4 separate Turtle Doves, one very close and purring continuously. Also at least 5 Corn Buntings, numerous Yellowhammers and Skylark (12 in the air together at one point), 2 juvenile Stonechats, Mistle Thrush and Bullfinch. I also saw 3 Corn Buntings on telephone lines near Hindon on my return journey but still not in Somerset.
