Hi Alison
Thanks for the info, hopefully going to pay a visit this weekend weather permiting.
Would love to see some avocets but any wading birds would make it worthwhile….
Thanks again.
A visit to Steart is well worth it, try to visit around a high tide, the higher the better, otherwise any birds will be too far away especially for photography. Any Avocet present are likely to be on the R. Parret and not always easy to see depending on where they are but you are likely to get up to date information when you visit.
Evening all…
Really like reading the posts on here and am pleased to be a member.
I’m based in Taunton Somerset and I’m thinking of taking a trip fairly soon to Steart Marshes to hopefully photograph some Avocets, Curlews etc and was wonering if anyone could recommend this as a good place to see some or suggest somewhere else fairly local.
Thanks in advance.
