10 scaup mid afternoon near Axbridge Tower (4 males). At least 13 goosanders. Also barn owl hunting to the south behind the ponds.

13:00 - 3 Male & 2 Female Scaup (Greater) in SW corner of reservoir.  No sign of Goosander.

Late afternoon, 4 scaup (2 males) near Axbridge Tower and 24 goosanders in the middle of the reservoir.

At least 4 scaup yesterday (3 males) and 4 pintail (more usually seen in early autumn).. Also a little owl perched in a large gnarled old tree. But no sign of Saturday’s BN grebe. Another one that got away!

7 Scaup today plus 12 Goosander and the RCP returned.

5 scaup this morning (2 males). All very well marked and apparently adult. Also one male goosander, a few wigeon and my first linnets of the year.

Late news (sorry) for Sunday 7 January: 2 adult Med Gulls in the gull roost, 5 Goosander (1 male) and a male Goldeneye at dusk.

Red kite drifted over north. Several chiffchaffs in Axbridge car park. Also 3 grey wags. But still no RC Pochard!

It does occasionally disappear

Up to 5 goosanders (2 males) this morning. Peregrine flew over southeast. Goldcrest and chiffchaff in Axbridge car park. But no sign of RCP!
