The route I took starts off on a board walk then gets slightly overgrown but I kept to where the sheep tracks were which helped but there seems to be no definite footpath as I made my way to Colley water then up over onto Black Barrow then back down Chalk water

Is the path south along Weir Water still a permitted path open to the public?
The last time I walked it about 2 years ago it was quite over grown in places, giving the impression of disuse.
