There was 10 Barnacle Geese along the Parret Estuary at Stockland Reach this morning, as viewed from the Steart Tower Hide. Wonder where the other 9 have got to?
Thanks Roger. A long way from where I was.
Martin they landed alongside the Canadas opposite the breach.
The 19 Barnacles did a convenient flypast for me this morning visible from the Huntspill side. They completed a wide circle but I didn’t see where they landed. Huge flocks of Dunlin and other waders on the Steart bank of the Parrett estuary after high tide.
The flock of 19 Barnacle Geese were still on the Fenning early afternoon, well right of Steart Tower Hide as ‘scoped from near the Huntspill Sluice.
Flock of Barnacles still present this morning on the saltings on the Huntspill Bank, also a Shag seen flying downstream opposite the Fenning.
A flock of 19 Barnacle Geese on the Fenning this morning (still there at 10.15), visible from the Tower Hide and the small one by the pool where the avocets bred. Undisturbed by a fox, they flew when a helicopter went over but circled and returned to feed.
