Thanks Andy. We were very lucky to be there. The following night they just went back to normal activities - still impressive but not quite in the same league.

I know I’m not meant to just make a comment but Dave’s Starling video on twitter is absolutely amazing.  Thanks for posting it, Dave.

Hi Dave - I’ll check that out! We were very lucky on Friday as last night they all seemed to be heading over to the east - Ham Wall? Compensation came in the form of a merlin though!

Didn’t see you down there Stephen. Hope you are well. Have you seen the video I took that night of the murmurations - it’s on Twitter. They were certainly spectacular!

Really good day on the levels today (Thursday 8th) with first clients of Somerset Birdwatching Holidays! Green Sandpiper over Tealham Moor (and several GWEs), Glossy Ibis, c20 Black-tailed Godwits, many Snipe and Lapwing at Ham Wall; c3000 Wigeon together with Pintail on Noah’s Lake; ending with great Starling display over Decoy Hide/Canada Farm area, together with at least 8 Marsh Harriers above the flock, and a Peregrine and Merlin! No sign of the three rare ducks though, despite searching…
