Marek Borkowski is a new speaker for the group but many of you have been birding in Poland. For those of us that have not, Marek lives in the famous Biebrza marshes and has unsurpassed knowledge of this amazing area. What is more, he has spent his own money on purchasing the site of one of the largest leks of the great snipe in order to protect it from disturbance. However, his interest has not been confined to Biebrza. We hope he will also tell us about animals such as the European bison and the famous Bialowieza Forest, which as many of you may know is currently being damaged by logging.
